Doveton are wasting no time at all as they build towards their debut in the #AFLOEPREM next season.
The Division One Premiers have already announced three signings with midfielders Charlie O’Neill and Jarrod Smith having returned to club from Highett and St Kilda City respectively, whilst 24 year old key position player Mark Seedsman has crossed over from Eastern Football League club Rowville.
Division Two Premier Seville have been busy making sure their premiership list remains intact, with 10 key senior figures having put pen to paper for the Blues assault on the #AFLOEDIV1 next season.
Aaron Wind, Dan Iaucone, Gareth Fraser and Jesse Fraser have locked themselves in for 2020, whilst the Blues leadership group from 2019 – Nathan O’Keefe, Mark Cecere, Jack Nolan, Bryce Penwill, James Cecere and Dylan Broadway have also re-committed. Senior Coach Kane Shore will steer the Blues into their first season in Division One as well.
Warburton Millgrove are taking their recent relegation in their stride, with the Burras already luring two locals a little further down the Warburton Highway for the 2020 season.
Ex Woori Yallock midfielder Joel Coombs will add a hard nosed edged to the Burras midfield, with the premiership Tiger deciding to return to the Valley in blue, white and black. Coombs will add precious experience to the Warburton Millgrove line-up, drawing on his aforementioned premierships and his interleague experience.
Coombs will be joined by young forward Christian Cameron who has also made the move to the Burras from Woori Yallock. Cameron played 17 games for the Tigers in 2019, including their elimination final loss to Cranbourne. The Burras will be hoping he adds some much needed polish and goals to their outfit.
Gembrook-Cockatoo have strengthened their off-field structures for the 2020 season with the newly promoted Brookers re-signing senior coach Brad Coller and his Senior Assistant Neil Busacca.
Daniel Fidone will take charge of the Brookers talented Under 18 group, whilst 2018 Division One Under 18 Premiership Coach Steve Manning has returned to the clubs coaching staff in a development role.
Manning’s role will see him mentor the younger Brookers as they make the transition into senior football and as the club itself goes from #AFLOEDIV2 to #AFLOEDIV1.
One of the Brookers new opponents, Emerald, have also been busy in recent weeks, with Nick Lang their first big signing of the silly season.
Lang, who has boundless VFL experience, played over 100 junior games for the Bombers and will add some extra class and composure through their midfield and half forward lines. Lang’s signing accompanies a host of re-signings for the Bombers who finished the 2019 #AFLOEDIV1 season in sixth place.
Nic Jansen, Joshua Rich, young gun Rogan Goonan and 2019 leading goal kicker Jake Pedder are just four of the key re-signings for the Bombers who will look to go one better in 2020.
Meanwhile Belgrave have announced the signing of Ryan Taylor for the 2020 season.
The 194cm key defender is a well travelled footballer, having spent time with Westbourne in the VAFA, Trentham in Maryborough and most recently Nagambie in Kyabram. The left footer is coming off a small football hiatus, having spent the past two seasons focusing on his plumbing business, but is ready and willing to go for the Pies in 2020. Expect more to come out of the Magpie Nest.
